GREVILLEA//GROUP SHOW//DESIRE IS NO LIGHT THING
Indeed desire is no light thing. It is sticky. A tissue between matter and bodies. An enmeshment, porous, blurring the borderlands of identification. An enmeshment that is its own body; a body of desire. The question, therefore, is not 'what is it that I desire, and am I desired by those things in return?' Rather, 'what is this desire between us? What are its contours? And, how are we created and recreated through this entanglement?' Arms stretched out from being towards becoming.
This work, Grevillea, 2019, video installation with wax (2.5m aprox), part of group show Desire is no light thing curated by Beth Caird featuring the work of Tarzan JungleQueen, Liz Stagg,
Shilo McNamee + PJ Romer.
Desire Is No Light Thing was held at Mayfair in July 2019
as a part of the Darwin Fringe Festival.
Held on Larrakia Country.
